A Day In The Life Of A Ballerina
When you were a child and adults asked you what you wanted to be when you grow up, did you tell them you want to be a ballerina?
Whatever the reasons are for those dreams not being actualized –growing disinterested in ballet, learning it’s difficult to keep up dancing in point shoes, or growing exhausted of the physical rigors of dance–a part of you might still wonder what being a primary dancer in a ballet company would be like.
New York City Ballet’s Lauren Lovette takes you through her daily training as a dancer and choreographer. There is a lot to be learned from her creative process but most of all, it is wonderful to see a young woman doing the very thing she loves most.
