Amy Schumer Is Back In The Spotlight For Postpartum Positivity
Amy Schumer was explicitly open during her difficult pregnancy and has continued to be a positive voice for women in her postpartum journey. She, along with former model Christy Turlington Burns are featured in the Life After Birth Project photo exhibit of more than 250 women depicting postpartum life.
Turlington Barns says, “This is me pale but still smiling on day one at home as a new mom. Though I’d lost two liters of blood post delivery, I can’t remember being more tired or more happy to have my baby girl in my arms after 42 weeks of pregnancy.”
The project is a partnership between maternity intimates line, Knix, The Empowered Birth Project and doula support group Carriage House Birth. With women feeling more pressure than ever to snap back after pregnancy, it is important to highlight the beautiful moments at the beginning of motherhood and these thoughtful, stunning images do just that.
The gallery opens this week in NYC and will travel around the country. Follow Life After Birth Project on Instagram to find out when they’re coming to a gallery near you.
