It’s easy to get lost in the weight of conference calls, paperwork, and a long list of to-do’s for the week ahead. It feels like a burden before it even begins and that makes it impossible to set positive and productive intentions for the week. Take a moment to settle back into the work week version of yourself and reestablish your strength after a long weekend.
Breathing exercises are an extremely powerful tool to help calm the nervous system. While it makes for a great start to your day, you can use this tool if you’re feeling aggravated, stressed or anxious. Try it on your commute, in line at the grocery store or to fall asleep at the end of a heavy day.
Here we go!
Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound.
- Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four.
- Hold your breath for a count of seven.
- Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight.
- This is one breath. Now inhale again and repeat the cycle three more times for a total of four breaths.
We see the light in you.
