Who do you call when everything in life is going your way? Who do you lean on when it feels like the bottom has fallen out?
Having close friendships, strong family ties and the support of a community increases longevity, lifts you up when you’re feeling down and celebrates even the smallest of your wins in life. However, life can take you many places, including far away from the tight-knit community that you had growing up.
As we move into adulthood and parenthood, our time becomes more and more limited and with new and expanding responsibilities, fringe relationships often fall away and the ride-or-die friendships become stronger and more meaningful.
Making new friends as an adult isn’t easy and it has helped me to hear about other people’s struggles with growing their inner circles after a cross-country move or beginning a new journey as a mom.
