Zach Galifianakis Has Bizarre Interview With Benedict Cumberbatch
Zach Galifianakis of The Hangover, Masterminds, and Baskets, has his own interview-style show called Between Two Ferns and it is the strangest thing we’ve ever seen.
In each segment, Galifianakis quite literally sits between two fern plants while he doles out questions that are gruesome and quite frankly rude for his interviewee to answer. As an interviewer, Galifianakis plays a garish version of himself as an uninterested interviewer who is phoning it in.
He takes little-to-no interest in his subjects and is armed with quippy insults. He is well-matched though by the actors and comedians whom he interviews, who are quick to also fire witty repartee at their host’s expense.
It’s all good fun and the interviewees are in on the joke or at least, that’s what we think.
In this episode of Between Two Ferns, Galifianakis interviews the brilliant Benedict Cumberbatch and asks him important questions like why he has the mustache of a colonialist.
It’s silly, somewhat nonsensical and hilarious. Watching the two of the riff of each other and deliver this very funny, but dry performance is great.
If you are a fan of Sherlock or are one of those people who find Mr. Cumberbatch dashing, you’ll love this. Now, if only they’d do another season of Sherlock…
